Email support@futurestarlight.co with the product's name, your computer or phone and its system version, and what happened. A screenshot helps.

Hotaru Companion

What she runs on

Mac: macOS 13 or later, on Apple silicon.
Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) and Linux (x64): in beta, so not yet tested on every machine.

Opening her the first time

Mac: she isn't notarized by Apple yet, so the first time macOS says it can't check the app. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway.
Windows: she isn't signed yet, so SmartScreen says "Windows protected your PC". Choose More info › Run anyway.
Linux: run run.sh in her folder.

Music

She reacts to what's playing on your computer; to stop that, switch off Vibe to music (Settings › Moves). With On the beat on, she also listens for the beat. On a Mac, macOS asks your permission the first time you turn it on. Nothing she hears is recorded or sent anywhere (see our Privacy Policy).

Starting fresh

Quit her, then delete her settings folder:

Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Hotaru Companion
Windows: %APPDATA%\Hotaru Companion
Linux: ~/.config/Hotaru Companion

Refunds

Refunds follow the policy of the store you bought from. Bought on itch.io? Email us and we'll sort it out. On Steam, ask for a refund through Steam; a refunded outfit locks again.
